about me

My name is Beth and I am a fully qualified holistic therapist. I absolutely love what I do, and I really do mean that. It has become a passion, if not an obsession! Making my clients feel good, happy and relaxed is the most rewarding feeling. I genuinely feel so lucky.

I set up 'And breathe' in January 2017 and it is my baby and means the world to me. Not just that, it has given me a legitimate excuse to indulge in my love of crystals, gel polish and nail varnish! I chose the name because I have suffered from panic attacks and still do. Whenever I have one I always get reminded to breathe. It just seemed like the perfect name because the whole reason for the business is to create some breathing space, to relax and look after ourselves, body, mind and spirit.

I haven’t always worked within this field. For over 20 years I worked in education but following a significant breakdown, I decided it was time to change direction and here I am today, recovered and happy. I love the life I now have, with all of the challenges that having my own business brings and I wouldn’t change it for anything.

I have done a huge amount of research in terms of products etc. as it is important for me to ensure that all my products are cruelty free and suitable for vegans. I also wanted everything to be organic where possible and that I use sustainable, recycled, eco friendly products.

I wanted to be mobile so that I could make these treatments fully accessible to everyone who wants them. I also wasn’t sure that being in a salon was right for me. I like being out and about and not rushing. What I will confess though is that I underestimated just how much kit I was going to have to load and unload every day and all the washing! Still, it is worth it.

The other thing that has been really important to me is that I didn’t want to just offer standard treatments. I wanted to be able to offer something a little bit special, more of a ritual. Having treatments in your own home should be a wonderful experience without compromise and that is what I try to do. I do not rush but will always take my time.

I studied my whole body massage course at Bridgwater College and the other qualifications I gained at Feel Better Days Academy in Bridgwater, Gateway Workshops, Goddess Temple in Glastonbury and Nail Harmony approved trainer in Glastonbury. All of the qualifications are fully accredited and recognised by The Guild of Holistic Therapists and the Guild of Beauty Therapists, the Professional Body of which I am a member of, and insured with.
